How long would it take for me to become a barber/cosmetologist and start working?

The time it takes to become a barber or cosmetologist and start working depends on your prior experience. If you already have some experience, whether it's self-taught or from a beginner training course in barbering or cosmetology, you can fast-track your journey through our apprenticeship program.

Our apprenticeship lasts between 18 to 24 months, during which you will:

  1. You'll receive your Apprentice Barber or Cosmetologist License in approximately 30 days from when you complete the Health and Safety Course on Orientation Day.

  2. Work and Learn with your Apprentice License: You will earn while you learn by working part-time or full-time in a salon or shop. This gives you the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience while earning an income.

  3. Receive Structured Training: Throughout the apprenticeship, you will receive guidance and mentorship to refine your skills and ensure you are fully prepared for licensing and a successful career in barbering.

This hands-on learning process ensures that you gain the experience needed to become a skilled barber or cosmetologist while also earning throughout your training.
